Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses artistic mediums to help explore emotions and thoughts, with art serving as a channel for communication. The hands-on use of physical materials—such as paintbrushes, clay, and paper—often helps people feel more connected to the world around them. This process offers you the chance to restore your soul, rebalance your mind, and reconnect with who you truly are, supporting you in living life to your full potential. Art therapy is especially beneficial for those who find it difficult to verbalize their feelings.

Art psychotherapy is available to you in person or virtually (online via Zoom).

One to one sessions are 60-90mins in duration and involve a dedicated space for you to explore a wide range of mediums with the art therapist.

An initial assessment will provide the basis for the direction of the sessions.

A minimum 6 session commitment is recommended.

Art therapy in a group setting helps to foster social connections in an inclusive atmosphere, building community and instilling a sense of hope.

A range of group courses are offered throughout the year, including visual journaling, slow stitching and working with and within nature.

Courses typically range from 4-8 sessions of 2 hours duration.

The workshops offer an experience of specific materials and techniques and aim to provide an introduction to exploring different art mediums.

Clay (Clay Field), painting, drawing, collage, image transfer, visual journaling and mandala's are just some of the things that can be discovered, igniting meaningful creativity.

*Children

Art therapy gives children a safe, nonverbal way to express complex emotions, process trauma, and build self-regulation. Since kids naturally communicate through play and images, art bypasses the limits of spoken language.

· Bypasses verbal barriers – Lines, colors, and textures help children externalize feelings they can’t put into words.

· Provides a sense of control – In times of instability, creating art offers a contained space where the child is in charge.

· Promotes neurobiological regulation – Repetitive, tactile actions like kneading clay or painting calm the nervous system.

· Strengthens the therapeutic bond – The therapist acts as an attuned witness, helping the child feel seen and validated without judgment
